Boise Magnetic
by ian on Dec.10, 2009, under My Life

On Monday, my brother in-law,Matt, and I went to Boise, ID to see Metallica. It was by far the best live show I’ve seen. They were genuinely excited to be there even though this was the 118th stop on the tour. The pyrotechnics were amazing. The sound was awesome. Every song they played was great. Here’s the set list. A bunch of oldies.
- That Was Just Your Life (Death Magnetic)
- The End of the Line (Death Magnetic)
- For Whom The Bell Tolls (Ride the Lightning)
- Holier Than Thou (The Black Album)
- Fade to Black (Ride the Lightning)
- Broken, Beat & Scarred (Death Magnetic)
- Cyanide (Death Magnetic)
- Sad But True (The Black Album)
- One (And Justice for All)
- All Nightmare Long (Death Magnetic)
- The Day That Never Comes (Death Magnetic)
- Master Of Puppets (Master of Puppets)
- Damage, Inc. (Master of Puppets)
- Nothing Else Matters (The Black Album)
- Enter Sandman (The Black Album)
- Stone Cold Crazy (Garage, Inc)
- Hit the Lights (Kill ‘em All)
- Seek and Destroy (Kill ‘em All)
One of the coolest things they do is offer a download of the recording of the concert. So now we can relive the whole experience. Boise ID 2009
I can’t wait till they come back.
Music week
by ian on Sep.09, 2009, under My Life
It’s been a good week for music stuff. I got my Metallica Tickets yesterday. Matt and I are going to see them on Dec 7th. I can’t wait. It’s going to be an awesome show. The other thing that happened is that today The Beatles: Rock Band released. Our family has been waiting for this for a really long time. Stuart especially but we are all big fans.
15 Albums
by ian on Mar.01, 2009, under My Life
I was tagged in Facebook from a good friend of mine on this. Since I don’t use facebook for anything but kinda aggregating my other webtools (wordpress, microblog, etc.) I won’t be tagging anyone else. Any way here’s the drill.
Think of 15 albums, CDs, LPs that had such a profound effect on you they changed your life. Dug into your soul. Music that brought you to life when you heard it. Royally affected you, kicked you in the ass, literally socked you in the gut, is what I mean. Then when you finish, tag (at least) 15 others, including me. Make sure you copy and paste this part so they know the drill.
Here are mine in no particular order:
- Thriller – Michael Jackson
- The Queen is Dead – The Smiths
- Disintegration – The Cure
- Eric Clapton – Unplugged
- The Razor’s Edge – AC/DC
- …And Justice for All – Metallica
- Rust in Peace – Megadeth
- The Wall – Pink Floyd
- Tommy – The Who
- Facelift – Alice in Chains
- Nevermind – Nirvana
- Master of Puppets – Metallica
- The Dark Side of the Moon – Pink Floyd
- Blues Summit – B.B. King
- Blood Sugar Sex Magic – Red Hot Chili Peppers
